Description
An antique, 18th-19th Century Himalayan temple hand carving depicting a multi headed, multi-armed male deity on a densely patterned lotus throne, embracing his female consort. Both are seated in rajalilasana, the posture of Royal Ease, upon a larger lotus base. She is leaning against him, somewhat intimately resting her right leg on his left leg - her left foot is supported by a separate lotus throne. Both are crowned, and wear heavy circular earrings, with painted dhotis and other elements. An arch of stylised flames creates a backdrop to the couple. A line of text below the lotus base, while dark red paint beneath that hints that the piece was to be viewed from below. Height: 24.5cmPlease note that colour is as close as possible in the photos, but may not be exact. Also please be aware that your computer monitor setting may distort actual colours.
