    Description

Amtrak F40PH Phase III PFM Plated Brass Samhongsa N Scale.  This is one model that we show are offering.  As this model is from an estate. We are offering it as used.  The model is factory painted with a decal set so that the locomotive can be assigned a road number of choice.  The engine runs well on the test track.  The EMD F40PH is a four-axle 3,000–3,200 hp B-B diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in several variants from 1975 to 1992. Intended for use on Amtrak's short-haul passenger routes, it became the backbone of Amtrak's diesel fleet after the failure of the EMD SDP40F. The F40PH also found widespread use on commuter railroads in the United States and with Via Rail Canada. Additional F40PH variants were remanufactured from older locomotives by Morrison-Knudsen and Motive Power Industries between 1988 and 1998. The engines feature Blomberg M trucks and measured 56 ft 2 in.  Tipping the scales at 260,000–282,000 lbs. depending on configuration, the Locomotives featured an EMD 645E3 V16 diesel prime mover.  The AR10/D14 alternator powered the D77 traction motors.  These engines were geared for speeds up to 110 MPH.  The model comes with its original box and insert.  Please allow .75 for insured domestic shipping and handling. Foreign bidders please email for a shipping quote.
