  • Condition: These were removed from a clean working panel during renovations, None were tripping prematurely, and no scorch marks or overheating on the panel. Circa 1985 FPE Stab-Lok breakers were in use till Nov 2020. Updated listing (jan 2021), I removed a few more from a different panel (installed in 1970's replace last year when I replaced it with a modern panel) and added them to the listing, they are all in working condition, some have a few cosmetic chips off the plastic which do not affect safety or mounting.In addition I have added one full size UBI (now Connecticut Electric) stablok replacement breaker. it was bought as a spare many years ago and was never taken out of the package so it is new old stock.

    Description

    It is recommended to replace all FPE and other branded Stab-Lok circuit breaker panels with newer, safer technology.  If you choose not to do so and choose to replace an FPE breaker you should read the this test report on the "new" UBI replacement breakers for FPE panels

    In a nutshell, FPE breakers may not trip when they should, and the "new technology" replacement breakers are just new production from the old tooling acquired from the FPE bankruptcy, and according to the engineer that tested them, have a higher failure rate and are even worse at circuit protection.
    If you elect to replace a breaker or add a breaker to an FPE panel all that I warrant is that these were "working" breakers that were not tripping pre-maturely, and they were not scorching the breaker panel or getting hot.  However none of the circuits were overloaded so I have no idea how they would function in an overload situation.  They are working as well as any FPE breaker can be expected to be working.  These  breakers were removed with the entire panel during a renovation in november 2020
    Note the 20amp dual pole for sale is not the problematic 20amp dual pole where one side trips internally leaving the other pole energized, it is two single pole 20amp breakers with an external fixation where the handle of the tripping pole should throw the other breaker open.
