I just purchased this vintage Imperial Glass covered butter dish from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece was created as part of Imperial's reissue of iridescent Carnival Glass which began in the 1960's. This "Lustre Rose / Open Rose" design is well executed in their Helios green color with crisp mold and nice detail to the heavily embossed pattern. The piece measures 7 ¾" wide and 6" high. The pieces each bear the "IG" mark. The cover and base are in excellent condition with no damage. The iridescent surface is great shape with no noted wear. This striking Lustre Rose butter dish would make a nice addition to your collection of vintage Imperial reissue iridescent Carnival glass.
