Only Wayne Gretzky (19) began his career with more consecutive point-per-game seasons and Gordie Howe is tied with Crosby at 17.
Crosby also hit the 30-goal plateau for the 10th time in his illustrious career, joining Mario Lemieux (11) and Jaromir Jagr (10) as the only players in team history to score 30+ goals 10 or more times with the team. His team-leading 84 points marked the 12th time in his career that he's led the Penguins in scoring, surpassing Mario Lemieux (11) for the most such instances in franchise history.
