Poor Directions

As another buyer stated experiencing, all was fine until we got to step 4 and there were no screw holes drilled for the fabric hanger poles (F and G) that attach the cover to the back connector bar (A). Quality assurance by this manufacturer is lacking. Also, as many other people stated, there's a lot of room for improvement with the instructions. The line art is so fine it's hard to make out. In today's digital age, the illustrations should be better and/or a how-to video provided. In lieu of that, here are a couple of photos I took during my assembly that may help others. As you'll see, we put it together upside-down by propping it up with baskets. After the frame of the pergola was completely assembled, we rolled it over until it was upright. Seemed like an easier way of doing it than the other way around. (Wish I could share all my photos but only two are permitted.)

Love my new pergola. My patio has straight sun all day. So it was always way to hot to be out there. This product is perfect. I was missing a couple parts and the instructions are horribly written. Have some patience while putting it together. Took about 5 hours and 3 people are needed. Overall I am very pleased.

The absolute worst instructions ever. Spend a little more money on paper and make sure that your instructions can be followed. Not all items were marked properly. Will have to take apart again (2nd time), to correct mistakes. Can't say anything until completed. Do a video, add it to the instructions with the website if you don't want to spend the money.
Extremely frustrating purchase experience

The actual item is very attractive and functional. However, the delivery of the item was horrible. Our first order was returned to Walmart during the delivery process and we were issued a refund with absolutely no explanation of why. The second attempt came damaged and had parts missing. The damage was so extensive that Walmart sent us a THIRD item. Two of the legs had substantial damage in shipping; luckily, two of the legs on delivery number two were usable. Assembly overall was extremely difficult. The pockets in the canopy are sewn inconsistently; several were so snug that it took two of us to force the rod into the pocket. I love the this Pergula look so perfect for my patio . It was easy to put together looks and is sturdy . It's perfect if you want to enjoy the sun under the pergula or if you want shade just pull the strap on the canopy and you decide sun or shade .

Unlike others who had difficulty with assembly and missing parts, my pergola came complete and I got it at a further reduced price as summer items are being taken down at my local store. Assembly took only a couple of hours. The pergola is attractive and the fabric seems sturdy. There was one small glitch in that we had EXTRA parts. There were 8 slide rings on one of the rails instead of four. I just tucked the extras between each fold of the cover and it works fine and allows the cover to be drawn completely closed. They can also be removed with a little more effort. So far, this product has met expectations.
A Must Have for Your Patio

I absolutely love this!!! It wasn't difficult to assemble but did take 2 of us about 4 hours to assemble. If you lay all parts out on ground where they are to be added on, made it much easier. The look was way better than I expected. I am very happy with this purchase.

Very disappointed. Got this thing put together despite the awful directions only to find out it was missing the threaded plastic pieces for the ends of the fabric hangers for 3 of the 4 rods. Since the directions clearly state not to return to the store, I just ordered the parts online from the YoTrioInt.com company. The reviews for that company look pretty bad so I'm not optimistic. I am not sure how or why an item can come in its original sealed packaging and be missing parts but beware of this when you purchase one because you don't know until it's all set up that you are missing these if you don't know to look. If I receive these parts in a timely manner, I will update my review but for now, I can only give one star since the item was sent missing critical parts. The first photo shows where the part is missing and the second shows one with the part. Only one rod had the threaded pieces.

Awful! Directions were in another language and there were missing holes that needed to be drilled and their is a defect with one of the brackets that holds the top on. So disappointed and dissatisfied with this item!

It came damaged 2 of the posts had big dents in the bottom of them which I was able to hammer out myself, there wasn't enough screws to put it together and the canopy and the protective cover was too big for it. I am trying to work with customer service trying to get this resolved.

The item came with 3 of the legs dented and scratched. Very disappointed in the damaged product I paid full price for. The instructions were also not very helpful.

The item looked good.. but unfortunately one of the legs is damaged badly.. I saw many posted the similar comments.. its not the damage while shopping.. as the paint or anything has not gone.. but the leg has severe damage.. unable to reach to the concern person as well to see if they can send across the particular leg as well

Parts came damaged and I don't believe that it happened during shipment because too many people have the same complaint. We had to hammer the dented bar so the bar tip would fit. The instructions are horrible. It took 3 people to put it together and once we got to the end we noticed we had the back connector bar on wrong so now we have to take one side apart.

Here are the good things worth mentioning: 1. In theory it's a beautiful pergola for this price point and easy to assemble. 2. If it wasn't defective, I would have given it 5stars. The bad:1. It arrived defective, specifically it was missing 3 crucial shade attachment pieces. Without those 3 pieces, we cannot use the shade which really defeats the one of the main purposes of the pergola. 2. Called customer service immediately and was told they would ship out the missing pieces. It's beyond the 7-10 business days and still nothing. I'll update if it actually arrives.
Beautiful but hard to assemble

I have a second floor apartment patio and was looking for a small pergola to provide much needed shade and was thrilled to find this one at a great price. Had to wait months before I decided to put it up after the southern California rains were over. I finally did with the help of a very handy person who brought all his power tools and gadgets " just in case". I am glad he did because the assembling was a nightmare!! Instructions are horrible, hard to figure out which bolts go where ( specially the ones on the U brackets) and the pictures are unclear and very confusing. It was very hard to get the posts up and we had to hold the parts together with bungee cords, and thank God for his power tools because we had to bolt and unbolt several times before it was up and standing. It took about 5 hours between the 2 of us, so I definitely recommend at least 3 people.It is a very light pergola, and since I am not allowed to bolt it to the patio floor, I filled the posts with broken pieces of brick and small rocks before bolting the base piece. It worked perfect and it is super sturdy. It was very windy yesterday and it hold up perfectly. Like I've said, it is very hard to put together but I love the end result. I am still working on my little patio sanctuary but so far it's looking nice with the help of this pergola.

I like the appearance and it should work well providing the needed shade. Now, the directions . . . Less than helpful. I am good at assembly, but upon reading reviews - I took my time and really focused - so I thought. I got it assembled and upright with only the cloth covering to attach. I then discovered that I had support bar (A) backwards and could not attach the shade cover to the INSIDE. Perfect fit over my rectangular 7 person table! Nice finish, good quality. Wouldnt have been so hard to put together if the directions were a little better. Ended up taking things apart a redoing because the diagrams dont show what direction rails should be put together. Tough for even two people when raising up with the legs. Needed a 3rd person. Nice product for the price! Need to get a replacement cover for the future since my backyard gets full south sun and I see the cover may taking a beating from it.
