Description
This
is a Rare Vintage 1950’s / Korean War Era Photo Scrapbook of a US Navy WAVE Woman soldier, and
her Marine brother or boyfriend. The 11 ½” x 8 ½”
album, has a cover that says “Photo-Log / US Navy”. Inside are 36 black
construction paper pages, with the photos on both sides of the 72 total sides. The
book has 190 photos of various sizes, plus 9 postcards from 1950’s Hawaii. Many
of the photos are dated, and most have a brief caption written below. Most of
the photos are entered in the album with photo corners, so they are removable. There
is a whole section, maybe about 1/4" of the album, on their stay in Hawaii,
including; photos; postcards & several paper souvenirs. The photos begin in 1950
with the WAVE & her friends in Dade Barracks (US Naval Air Station) / Sand
Point / Seattle Wash., and end in Hawaii in 1954. The front of the book has
unused Log pages for; Neptune document for crossing the equator; Autographs;
& 12 pages for a daily Diary. None of these pages were ever filled out. The
Album is a Fascinating Time-Capsule of Photos!! The album pages are mostly in
great condition, although the cover is in poor condition, with the top binder
hole to the cover breaking loose, and some wear to the back cover. Please see
