Vintage Boston Ordnance District Paperweight Lt Col Graffeo In 1951-Out 1958

Ordnance symbol bomb with flame steel paperweight engraved “LT. COL. A. J. GRAFFEO, IN: 12 FEB 51, BOSTON ORD. DIST., OUT: 11 FEB 58.”
Alphonse J. Graffeo was called to active duty in the U.S. Army in January of 1941 with the Ordnance Corps and served in the European and Pacific Theatres during WWII.
He was called back to duty during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
He retired as a Colonel.
Magnet sticks to paperweight.
Paperweight measures 4 ¾” high.
The base is approximately 1 ¾” by 1 7/8”.
It weighs over a pound.
Paperweight has patina and marks consistent with use and age.
